Q. How do I print?

First, log onto one of the computers in the library. Pull up the document you would like to print. Open the print window as you would on any other computer. Click the drop down menu and choose either Lib1-Color (color printer) or Sey-Lib. If these options are not visible, click more options. If they are still not visible you need to add the printers. In this case, go down to the very bottom left hand corner of the desktop and type \\printers into the dark gray search bar. Open the window. Scroll through the printer options and select either of the printers listed above. A new window will open, once it finishes loading you may close that window. Feel free to add both printers using this method. Once you have added the printer, go back to the document, reopen the print window, and select the printer (you may still need to click the more options link). Double check whether your document will be printed double or single sided, and whether it will be in color or black and white. Click print. Then, open a new tab. In the search bar, type //printers.knox.edu. Log into the platform that appears (called papercut) using your Knox credentials. On the left hand side, click the 'jobs pending release' option. Your print job should appear in the list. Double check the price makes sense ($0.06 a page for black and white, $0.30 a page for color). If you want black and white but the price indicates color, cancel the request and re-open the print window, making sure to print in black and white this time. If you wish to print in color but the pending job indicates it is in black and white, repeat these steps for color printing. (Remember, Lib1-Color is the color printer. You can print black and white on it as well, but the other printer, Sey-Lib, cannot do color). Once you are satisfied the price reflects your desired outcome, click release job on the right side of the screen. Or you may click release all jobs on the top left of the window if you wish to release multiple jobs at once. The printer should begin working momentarily.
