Q. How can I get a book that isn't in the Knox Library or available through I-Share?

Use the Tipasa interlibrary loan service!

If the book is not available at Knox or via I-Share, you may place an Interlibrary loan request for the book using the Tipasa service.

The easiest way to create a Tipasa request is to find the correct book in Knox Primo using the "All I-Share Libraries" search option:

If you find the correct book, click on the option to "Request this item via Tipasa interlibrary loan service" and fill out the request form.

If you cannot identify the correct book using the I-Share search in Knox Primo, then you must create a Tipasa request manually:

  1. Login to your Tipasa account. (You can also access Tipasa from the link on the library's web site, under the Tools & Resources menu.)
  2. Click on the CREATE REQUEST button.
  3. Click on the Request type BOOK on the top menu.
  4. Fill out the form completely.
  5. Click the SUBMIT REQUEST button.

If another library is willing to loan the item, it will be sent to our library and processed for you to check out. You will get an email notification when the item is ready to be checked out.
