Q. How can I get a textbook for my class using the interlibrary loan service?
Some course texts may be available in the Knox College Library collection or via I-Share. Search Knox Primo to find out. See this FAQ about requesting materials through I-Share.
Some course texts may also be available via the Tipasa interlibrary loan service, but we recommend that you try to get course texts from I-Share rather than Tipasa because they will arrive sooner and the loan period is often longer. If you obtain materials from I-Share you are likely to be able to have them for an entire term; materials obtained via Tipasa may need to be returned before the end of the term.
If you need to use the Tipasa interlibrary loan service to get a course text follow the instructions below. To get the correct course text you should first visit Knox's bookstore site and have all the information about the text: title, author(s), edition, publisher, ISBN. This will hep ensure that you get the correct text needed for your class.
The easiest way to create a Tipasa request is to find the correct book in Knox Primo using the "All I-Share Libraries" search option:

If you find the correct book, click on the option to "Request this item via Tipasa interlibrary loan service" and fill out the request form.

If you cannot identify the correct book using the I-Share search in Knox Primo, then you must create a Tipasa request manually:
- Login to your Tipasa account. (You can also access Tipasa from the link on the library's web site, under the Tools & Resources menu.)
- Click on the CREATE REQUEST button.
- Click on the Request type BOOK on the top menu.

- Fill out the form completely.
- Click the SUBMIT REQUEST button.
If another library is willing to loan the item, it will be sent to our library and processed for you to check out. You will get an email notification when the item is ready to be checked out.
